• রেইকি কি ও কেন ?

“রেইকি” হলো একটা জাপানী কথা। ‘রে’(Rei) ও 'কি' (Ki) এই দুটি শব্দ দিয়ে তৈরি। জাপানী ভাষায় 'রে’শব্দের মানে হলো সার্বভৌমিকতা, যার গূঢ় অর্থ হলো আধ্যাত্মিক বুদ্ধিমত্তা এবং 'কি' শব্দের অর্থ হলো জীবন শক্তি বা জৈব শক্তি। এক কথায় সর্বব্যাপী জীবন শক্তি। আরও সহ্য করে বললে বলতে হয় জাপানী আধ্যাত্মিক স্পর্শ চিকিৎসা বিধি।

জাপানের এক প্রচীন চিকিৎসা পদ্ধতি হলো রেইকি। যদিও এর সঙ্গে অর্থাৎ এই পদ্ধতির সঙ্গে কোনো দেশ-জাতি-ধর্মের বিশেষ সম্পর্ক নেই। আঝ্যাত্মিক ভাবনা, শরীরের জ্ঞান, প্রবল ইচ্ছাশক্তি এবং বিশ্বাস হলো এই পদ্ধতির মূলকথা।

এটির আবিষ্কার করেন বহু বছর আগে জাপানের ডা. মিকাও ইউসুই নামে এক মহাত্মা। যদিও ডা. ইউসুই নিয়েই বলেছেন তিনি এই পদ্ধতির প্রবর্তক নন, পুনা আবিষ্কারক। তাঁর কথা থেকেই বোঝা যাচ্ছে প্রাচীন কালে জাপানে এই পদ্ধতি বা আধ্যাত্মিক স্পর্শ চিকিৎসার প্রচলন ছিল। কালের বিবর্তনে তা কিছু কালের জন্য হারিয়ে যায় এবং ডা. ইউসুই তাকে পুনরায় আবিষ্কার করে জনসমক্ষে নিয়ে আসেন। আর শুধু জাপানেই নয়, এখন সারা পৃথিবীতেও রেইকির প্রচলন হয়েছে। অবশ্য কোথাও কোথাও দেশানুসারে এর ভিন্ন ভিন্ন নামকরণ হয়েছে। যেমন ভারতে প্রাণ, চিনে 'চী', মুসলিম দেশে 'বর্ক' রাশিয়ায় 'বায়োপ্লাজমা ইত্যাদি।

নাম যাই হোক আদতে পদঝতি একই।
এই বৌদ্ধ-চিকিৎসা পদ্ধতি তিব্বতের বৌদ্ধধর্মের ঔষধ-বুদ্ধ নামক উপচার মার্শের একটা সূত্রের ওপর আধারিত। এটি পারিভাষিক রূপ বা শৈল্পিক রূপ হিসাবে লুপ্ত হয়ে গিয়েছিল। ডা. ইউসুই একটি প্রচীন বৌদ্ধ গ্রন্থে এই সূত্রের উল্লেখ দেখে এর পুনরাবিষ্কার করেন।

তবে একটা কথা অবশ্য এখানে বলা প্রয়োজন তা হলো, রেইকি চিকিৎসা পদ্ধতির স্বরূপ এবং এর মূল ভাবনা বা সিদ্ধান্ত বৌদ্ধ দর্শন বা তার আদর্শের সঙ্গে খুব একটা মেলে না। কারণ বুদ্ধদেব স্বয়ং কোথাও ঈশ্বর বা শিব বা শক্তি ইত্যাদির ব্যাখা করেন নি। ঈশ্বরের অস্তিত্বের যাবতীয় প্রশ্নের ব্যাপারে তিনি ছিলেন চির নীরব। তাঁর বক্তব্য ছিল একটা অসহায়-অবলা পাখির শরীরে তীর বিদ্ধ হলে মানুষের প্রথম কর্তব্য হলো তৎক্ষণাৎ সেই তীর তুলে তার প্রাণ রক্ষার জন্য সচেষ্ট ওওয়া। এটা অনেক পরের ভাবনা যে ঐ তীর কে নিক্ষেপ করেছে বা কত দূর থেকেতা নিক্ষেপ করেছে। এই ভাবনার মধ্যেই তার বক্তব্য অত্যন্ত স্পষ্ট।

• History of Reiki

Reiki (pronounced 'Ray-Key") a laying on of hands healing technique thousands of years old, is the Usui system for natural healing rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist, in the late 19th century. Closely following the formula he found in the Indian Sanskrit 'Sutras' he received the healing powers of Reiki and the power of transferring this power to others.

Before his transition around 1930 he gavew the Master attunement to 16 teachers, one of whom was Dr. Chujiro Hayashi. Before he died, he asked Dr. hayashi to accept the responsibility of preeserving Reiki so that it would not be lost as it had been in the past.

Dr. Hsyashi oppened the first Reiki clinic in Tokyo and passed on the complete teaching to Hawayo Takata, who had been cured by Reiki herself and who gradually spread Reiki around theworld. The Grand Master of Reiki today is Phyllis Furomoto, who currently resides in Santa Fe, USA.

• What is Reiki?

Reiki is wisdom and truth - Hawayo Takata.
Reiki can be defined as a Universal Life Force Energy. Reiki. the Usui system of natural healing is not only the most simple and natural healing method we know of, but it is also the most effective way of transferring this Life Force Energy. Once a person has been opened up to become a 'channel' for Reiki concentrated Life Energy will flow through his hands of its own accord and he will retain this ability for the rest of his life.

Reiki is a powerful self healing method that also promotes complete relaxation. 'Rei' means 'Universal' and 'Ki' means 'Life Force'. 'Ki' is the non physical energy used by all healers. 'Ki' is the non physical energy used by all healers. 'Ki' is all around us and can be accumulated and guided by the mind.

Reiki is the non physical energy that animates all living things.
As long as something is alive it has a life force circulating through it and surrounding it. When it died the life force departs. If your life force is low, or if there is a restriction in its flow you will be more vulnerable to illness. When it is high and flowing freely, you are less likely to get sick. Life force plays an important role in everything we do. It animates the body and is also primary energy of our emotions, thought and spiritual life.

Reiki supported the bodies natural ability to heal itself. It:
